What is Userflix?
Userflix is a platform for AI-moderated qualitative interviews. An AI moderator talks with your participants by voice or message, asks follow-up questions based on your research goals, and turns hundreds of conversations into a report where every finding is backed by what people actually said.
What's the difference between Voice and Messaging studies?
Voice studies in Userflix are live spoken conversations, typically 20 to 30 minutes, for spontaneous reactions in people's own words. Messaging studies run asynchronously over hours or days: participants answer by text, voice note or photo, for example a shelf in a store or their kitchen at home. Messaging works well for diary studies, shopper research and anything people should respond to in the moment.
How is Userflix different from other AI interview tools?
Userflix runs real voice-to-voice conversations instead of reading out questionnaires, and supports research designs such as photo tasks, prototype tests and diary studies. Its interview quality has been independently evaluated and published. Userflix is a European company, and all data is processed in the EU.
Can research agencies use Userflix for their clients?
Yes. Many Userflix customers are research institutes that use it to run more qualitative projects with the same team. White label is available.
Interview quality
Does the AI just read out my questions?
No. The Userflix moderator follows your interview guide, but it knows the research goal behind each block and decides for itself when to dig deeper, ask for an example or move on. You can give the moderator private instructions and test the interview yourself before sending it to anyone.
How good are the interviews?
Userflix was independently evaluated by Nielsen Norman Group in January 2026 and compared against human-moderated interviews in a GIM study published in planung&analyse (March 2026). Userflix also won the marktforschung.de Startup Innovation Award 2025.
How does Userflix make sure the AI doesn't make things up?
Every claim in a Userflix report is linked to the conversations it comes from, so you can check it in one click. Where the evidence is thin, the report says so. You always have access to the full transcripts.
Running a study
How long does it take to set up a study?
Setting up a study in Userflix takes a few minutes. Upload a briefing or an existing interview guide and Userflix drafts the interview for you. Edit it in chat or directly in the editor, try it with a test link, then share the participant link. In most projects, recruiting participants takes longer than the setup.
Where do participants come from?
You bring your own participants: your customers, your community or a panel provider. Userflix gives you a participant link, and after the interview a completion link sends people back to your panel. Recruitment and incentives are not part of Userflix.
Can I combine Userflix with my existing survey?
Yes. Add the Userflix link to your questionnaire and pass survey answers into the interview via URL parameters, so the moderator can follow up on what each person said in the survey. One research agency used this for an ad pre-test: first a quantitative study on a TV spot, then qualitative interviews with the same respondents.
Which languages does Userflix support?
Userflix runs interviews in 97 languages. Transcripts stay in the participant's language, and you choose the language of your report separately.
Results and data
What do I get at the end?
A few minutes after fieldwork, Userflix delivers a report with an executive summary, findings, implications and recommendations. Every insight is cited back to specific participants and transcript passages. You can ask your study questions in plain language, export the report as PDF and download raw data as CSV.
What happens to my data?
Userflix processes all data in the EU, with hosting in Germany. Userflix stores no audio, only transcripts. The voice provider holds session data for a maximum of 24 hours so an interrupted interview can resume. Userflix never trains AI models on customer data, and deletion periods can be agreed per customer.
